Lake Hiwasee
Lake Hiwassee follows the Hiwassee River from Murphy, NC (Cherokee County) west towards Tennessee. This lake only has one residential development, Bear Paw, with the rest being National Forest land. Lake Blue Ridge
Lake Blue Ridge is on the Toccoa River near Blue Ridge, GA. The picturesque mountain views and proximity to Atlanta (1.5 hours) make this one of Georgia's most popular lakes. The 3,290-acre lake has 65 miles of shoreline, 80 percent of which is in the Chattahoochee National Forest, limiting development. The water level varies about 20 feet during a normal year.
